our fr10 monitor goes quiet while the log file grows

The separate diagnostic laptop stops refreshing its FR10 display when detailed logging is enabled. Controls keep running separately, but the screen leaves the old reading looking current. I suspect the file writer is blocking something; I have not yet measured where the delay starts.
