The scratch rotates out of existence

I've been handed a folder labelled bad covers for our planned FR10 camera station. One polished cover appears in four pictures; the alleged scratch disappears when the cover is turned slightly. Nobody marked the physical area or kept a matching inspection note. How are you linking an image label to something a person has actually checked on the part? I'd rather sort that out before our entire handover consists of arguing with a bright stripe.
