Why is the prettiest bezel photo our reject reference?

Our UR5e camera proposal uses a dramatic bright arc as its scratch example. Quality passed that actual bezel. A rejected bezel with a small edge mark barely gets a mention because its photo looks dull. How do I get a useful reference set out of this beauty contest?
