Which open-tool position should our FR5 mill-loading drawing show?

Our polymer blank reaches the mill fixture in the proposed FR5 sketch, but the picture loses the gripper as soon as it reaches the door. I need the open-tool withdrawal shown too. The setter asked where his fixture-change trolley would go, which the same drawing also avoids answering.

We found a door clash only after adding the fittings. Ask for the whole assembly, held blank and actual open door through the complete exchange.

Integrator has those models now. Closed tool can approach, but the open fingers cross the door edge after placement. We have not selected the stand position.

Is that the actual proposed finger opening, Joseph, or a generic maximum from a catalogue model? Both need treating correctly, but they answer different questions

Actual proposed opening for release, confirmed by the toolmaker. The integrator is considering a rotated base position, with the same complete tool for the comparison.

Keep the setter's trolley in that comparison. A rotated base can solve the door crossing and still leave the normal fixture change impossible.

Include where the removed fixture rests as well, Joseph. We once checked that a trolley could reach a bench and forgot that the next fixture was already occupying it. The person doing the exchange spotted it in about ten seconds when we finally asked them. It need not become a huge study. Let the setter walk through the actual removal and replacement with the proposed stand outline shown, and make the drawing reflect what that task needs.

Felix, exactly. Access for an empty trolley is a very selective sort of access.

Joseph, has the rotated position preserved the full door travel too? I would not accept a drawing that quietly uses a different open-door position

Yes, Leah. Same door travel in both models. Setter's walkthrough rejected the rotated stand because it blocks the loaded trolley turn. The integrator has asked the toolmaker about a revised finger shape at the original position.

That is a design alternative, not yet a solution. Have them retain the required grip and release conditions when they reshape the fingers, so the clearance improvement does not arrive with a different unfinished job.

At least the trolley got to object before the stand was welded.

Revised fingers clear in the complete model at the original position. The toolmaker is preparing a handling demonstration with our blank and receiving fixture. Setter access remains unchanged, and we are waiting for that demonstration before choosing.

Does the revised quote include those fingers and the demonstration, Joseph, rather than still pricing the original tool?

And give the setter the same revised tool drawing for the handover. A successful demonstration won't help the next replacement if stores keeps the original finger reference.
