Our FR10 puck grip is leaning again. Another point tweak proposed. What physical checks should come first?

Have maintenance inspect the tray seating, tool mounting and finger contact with the equipment isolated for that work. Compare with the intended assembly. Keep a note of what they find before tidying it away.

Maintenance found one finger pad sitting proud. There is a packing washer behind it.

Is that washer specified? Check the back of the pad and its mounting against the drawing, not only the gripping face. It may be hiding a fit problem.

Not on the drawing. Fitter remembers adding it after a replacement pad would not seat flat.

Find why the replacement would not seat. Removing the washer alone leaves that question unresolved. The tool designer should review the pad geometry before the arrangement goes back.

When were the pickup changes made, Sara, before that pad replacement or after it?

One before, two after. So this may explain the present lean, not the earlier trouble.

Get the replacement reference sorted in stores too, once tooling identifies the difference; otherwise someone will helpfully order another pad that needs the same inventive washer

Tooling found a wrong rear recess. Correct pad requested. Job remains held; pickup versions retained for review.

Include the old complaint in the eventual transfer check. A square-looking grip after the correct pad arrives would be progress, but your first pickup edit may have been addressing something else.
