My FR10 review started after the spacer trays were ready

I enjoyed our supervised FR10 spacer trial and wrote that I had the job running quickly. Reading it again, I can see why someone would think I set up the job. I did not. The demonstrator had prepared the trays, fitted the tool and loaded the program before I arrived. I used the prepared exercise and asked questions while he stayed beside me. It still felt approachable, but my review has made somebody else's preparation disappear. I want to correct that without pretending I disliked the afternoon.

Say exactly what you have said here. Your experience of using the prepared exercise is still yours; setting it up is a different claim.

Yep. Enjoying it isn't the bit you got wrong.

Did you refill a tray yourself, or did the demonstrator handle that as well?

I refilled one after he showed me the orientation. He checked it before we continued. That probably belongs in the correction too, rather than just saying I loaded parts.

It does. I like reviews that tell me what help was available when something looked uncertain. 'Easy' with an expert at your shoulder is a useful experience, just not the same one as being left to run a workshop.

Daniel, don't make him responsible for testing an entire workshop in an afternoon. The useful correction is the scope of his experience, not a list of every test he didn't do

I'm not asking for more tests, HazelBell. I mean readers should know he could ask the person who built the exercise. Noah already describes that clearly here.

Keep that description near the original quick-start sentence, Noah. People skim. A correction buried below the nice photographs won't reach the same readers.

Also remove any suggestion that the prepared tray was ordinary incoming work unless it was. Did the demonstrator sort the spacers beforehand?

Unknown preparation time can stay unknown; listing the work is better than guessing an hour figure because the review looks incomplete without one

Agreed. No need to turn an honest first impression into an estimate you cannot support.

Anna, he selected the demonstration spacers beforehand. I don't know what he excluded. Felix, I'm replacing the quick-start sentence itself and adding the preparation immediately after it.

That selection matters more to me than whether the tool fitting took ten minutes or longer. I want to know whether my own pile of parts resembles what you handled.

Were there any awkward moments you actually remember?

I put a spacer in the wrong way during the refill. He spotted it in his check and explained the orientation again. I'd left it out because I thought it was just me being new, but it shows the help quite well.

Include it without making it a dramatic failure. It explains why that check and the demonstrator's presence mattered.

And leave your enjoyment in. Otherwise future readers get the odd idea that accuracy requires everyone to sound disappointed

Revised now. I describe using his prepared job, my checked refill and the uncertain preparation time. I removed the claim that I'd set the job up myself. The positive impression stays.

Also, thanks Sara for asking about the awkward bit. That one remembered moment says more than my original paragraph of adjectives.

Much easier to understand. I'd read that as a useful supervised introduction, which sounds like what you actually had.
