Fairino FR10 carton tooling: what should the supplier demonstrate?

We're reviewing vacuum tooling for Fairino FR10 doing moving packed cartons from a packing bench with a lightweight packed carton in a packaged-goods transfer station, for a planned batch of 101. The supplier demo used a smooth sample. Our incoming cartons have seams, print and different board surfaces. What should I ask them to assess before we accept the pickup concept?

Begin with the proposed cup footprints overlaid on the permitted seam and print positions. Can you pair that drawing with labeled samples of your actual carton variations?

@DanielAllen0304 I've compared the drawings: a seam is permitted inside the area the cup sketch assumes is clear. The demonstration sample doesn't represent that seam position.

@VictorAbbott0011 Give the vacuum specialist the overlay and representative samples. One option for assessment is a revised footprint that avoids the permitted seam region.

Avoiding a seam won't answer leakage through the board. Your suggestion deals with the edge contact, not every surface difference the OP mentioned.

@LinBrown0879 You're right; my suggestion covered only part of the question. The assessment should distinguish leakage through the board from leakage around the contact on the representative samples.

I have a clear way forward by requesting a specialist assessment of the contact layout against representative packaging. My evidence question is answered, while concept acceptance remains conditional on the findings.

@VictorAbbott0011 That request addresses the missing coverage. The pickup decision still follows from the assessment, as you've set out.
