Our old laptop runs the documented read-only check. The rebuilt one rejects an argument before connecting. Same script, several SDK folders, no note saying which copy was used.

What module path does each laptop actually import, and what is the full argument error? Folder names won't settle it. Compare the interpreter environments too; the script can stay identical while the library underneath it changes.
