My drilled aluminium brackets do not seat alike in the proposed FR5 nest. Several contacts, tidy CAD, stronger clamp suggested. How do I check the locating scheme before approving tooling?
Have the designer identify which contacts establish the drawing datums and which support or clamp, then compare the identified samples and as-built nest against that intent. Record whether the difference exists before clamping. More force could conceal part variation or a conflicting contact rather than solve it.
