Why am I still the FR5 empty-pocket decision?

I taught the sleeve job's clean run. Now every empty pocket brings someone to find me. What did I leave out?

Can an operator distinguish an intentionally empty pocket from a missing sleeve and from a pocket whose placement was interrupted?

No. One 'empty' message covers all three. I've written the expected tray count on paper instead.

That paper helps only if it names the actual tray and still agrees with the job after a changeover; who checks that match?

Nobody explicitly. I was the check, apparently. Shift lead is helping me fix the handover.

I'd keep interrupted work out of the ordinary empty-pocket instruction, because somebody needs to establish where the sleeve is and what the job last confirmed before deciding how to recover; I can't give you that decision from a tray count.

Have the covering operator explain those cases back using the actual tray orientation, with you staying quiet long enough to discover which explanation fails

That caught a reversed pocket sketch. Corrected, then tried again: cover operator matched the tray, recognised the planned empty ending and sent the interrupted example to the named lead without guessing. The revised handover has been accepted for this job. Thanks, Louis.

Leave that covering person a way to report another unclear case, Thomas, because finding one during normal work shouldn't mean they're back to hunting for you personally.
