The carton label points along the unsupported direction

Our FR10 layer proposal rotates cartons over gaps in the layer below. The packing drawing shows reinforced ends, but the pallet view only shows rectangles. I need packaging and tooling to review the same support detail.

We had a layer discussion where the carton count kept getting clearer and the support stayed invisible. Can packaging mark the load-bearing areas on a section through both layers, with the finger spaces included?

They can. Tooling has offered their current finger drawing, so I've asked for those sections before the pattern review.

Which packing revision is the pallet proposal using, including the internal supports?

Packing revision C. The pallet drawing hasn't named a revision, although it appears to use the outer dimensions from B.

I'd get that mismatch sorted before the meeting. Same-looking rectangles can conceal different contents. Otherwise everyone spends the review agreeing about a carton you aren't shipping.

Is the lower layer shown as placed, including its actual gaps? A perfect grid can hide where the upper carton really lands.

Also curious whether the label direction follows the reinforced ends or just the printing. We had labels placed for scanning convenience once. The artwork was not a reliable guide to which way the package wanted support.

Ella, gaps are now drawn to the proposed placement. Theo, packaging confirms the arrow denotes the support direction on this carton. We're using their C drawing, not the label alone.

Has packaging said whether the rotated positions have adequate support in that corrected view?

They've rejected two rotated positions in the proposal. Designer is comparing fewer cartons with a changed finger arrangement. Nothing accepted yet.

Thanks for the C detail. Will the new finger arrangement be shown during withdrawal too? That is often the drawing we only remember after placement looks good.

I'd keep the lower-count option priced while they explore the fingers. We couldn't just recover lost count by making a taller pallet on our job; dispatch had other limits to live with.

Yes, Ella, withdrawal is included. The lower-count option has a packing cost now; modified-tool cost is pending. Filled-carton trials still need arranging.

Does either option need different handling at dispatch? Worth asking them while both are still proposals. A pattern can be easy to build and awkward to inspect or break down later.
