Two inspection sheets, two different meanings of square

I'm reviewing the old bracket records before a UR5e welding project gets specified. The fixture sheet says square with clamps on, while final inspection records an angle outside tolerance after release. The checks seem to use different faces as their reference. I'd like to sort out whether we're even comparing the same dimension before somebody copies the old correction routine into a robot job.

Start with the drawing datum. Which sheet actually uses it?

Final inspection names the datum face from the drawing. The fixture sheet just says check against upright. There's a sketch of the fixture post but no datum callout.

Then those checks are not yet demonstrated to be equivalent.

Is the fixture upright itself verified against that datum arrangement? In a previous records review, a convenient fixture surface had gradually become an unofficial inspection reference. The inspection numbers looked precise while answering a different question.

And restraint changes the measurement condition, even with matching reference faces.

I can't find an upright verification record in this folder. The drawing does specify inspection after release. Thanks, that gives me two actual gaps instead of a vague complaint about the old paperwork.

Keep the restrained check as process information. Do not relabel it final acceptance.

Who can identify the fixture revision used for these records? A current fixture measurement may not explain an old result if the upright was replaced.

Compare the fixture revision on the job traveller before arranging measurements; the wrong historical fixture would make that exercise a waste

Good point. Historical identity first, present-day conclusions later.

The traveller scans have a fixture suffix missing from our folder label. I'm flagging that in the review now. Haven't established whether it's a physical revision or just a record correction.

Do the records include incoming fit-up measurements? An acceptable restrained position does not reveal how much the clamps moved the loose parts to achieve it.

Only a tick for fits fixture. No gaps or free-state locations recorded. The correction note then says adjust as usual, which leaves the next operator with quite a lot of mind reading.

That correction cannot be reproduced from this record. Name it as an unresolved process dependency.

I've drafted the review with separate gaps for datum, fixture identity and incoming fit-up. The welding lead and quality person need to resolve those before we specify a repeatable sequence. At least the missing knowledge is visible now.
