My FR10 for lightweight-fixture loading arrived with a crushed crate corner, shifted supports and visible damage around the arm connector housing, and I've kept it unpowered with the packaging and arrival photos while the unnamed Chinese seller suggests switching it on without saying how the damage should be assessed.

I'd keep that hold. Switching it on doesn't tell you whether the shifted support damaged something behind the housing. Ask for a qualified service assessment with the arrival pictures attached, and get responsibility for the visit and any transport settled in writing.

The seller agreed to fund a local service visit, and the technician found a cracked housing mount after examining the impact area; they've specified a replacement and checks before power is applied, so at least this isn't my judgement from a photograph anymore.

Good to have an identified finding. Does the visit include the post-replacement checks and a written release, or is someone else expected to finish that? I've had repair bookings that covered the part beautifully and forgot the handover.

It included both: the mount is replaced, the service report records the required electrical and functional checks and releases the arm from the transport-damage hold; thank you for asking about the finish, Nathan, because our fixture application still has its separate commissioning work.
