Which fixture revision belongs to our FR10 bracket readings?

I can now follow individual brackets through released failure and correction, but this FR10 study has two fixture revisions under the same short name; how do I stop the clearer part history hiding a change in the fixture that held them?

Give each observation the fixture revision actually fitted, if you can establish it. Do not assign the latest drawing to older parts merely because the short name matches.

The old batch sheet names only the short fixture code, while maintenance recorded replacing the rear locator between the two production runs.

Does the replacement record identify the locator drawing and which run used it?

Keep the runs separate until that is answered. Combining them would make the fixture change disappear into a seemingly larger sample.

Maintenance record identifies the new locator drawing, and the run traveller says installed before the second run; the first used the earlier assembly, which is still in stores.

Were both runs checked against the same bracket drawing and released inspection method?

Anna's comparison matters before anybody credits the replacement with a lower correction count. The two runs may differ in more than their locator.

Same bracket revision and released check, but the incoming fit-up readings are missing for the first run; I can show its outcome, not assume the incoming parts matched the second.

Then don't call the locator an improvement from those counts alone. What does the fixture designer want to observe on the current arrangement?

Designer wants the defined incoming check, seating against the current contacts and released results linked on current parts; quality has included first-time passes as well as correction cases.

Who is updating the comparison already sent to purchasing? That earlier combined count may have become a claim about the new locator.

Estimator has split the two historical runs and removed the claimed locator improvement; purchasing received that revision, with the missing first-run fit-up data stated.

Does the current study identify the exact locator and backing arrangement, not just the new short code?

Yes, full assembly reference and fitted locator identity are on the sheet; stores checked those against the actual current fixture before the observation started.

Good. Has the current observation produced anything useful yet, without needing to borrow the missing first-run measurements?

It showed two current brackets not reaching the intended rear contact before clamping; the designer has those identified samples and their incoming measurements, so there is a specific seating problem to investigate now.

Keep the historical comparison closed at what you established. Those two current parts need their own investigation, not a retrospective story about why every old bracket needed correction.
