the bags transfer nicely after I've rearranged all of them

I've spent more time sorting bagged hardware kits for our UR5e trial than watching it transfer them. Another bag shape means another bit of presentation faff. The motion works. The job still looks wrong.

Could you restrict it to one steady bag family, or does that leave too little work to justify the setup? That's the first price comparison I'd make.

I would want someone else to prepare that steady family too. If only Lin knows the little adjustments, the apparently settled product still has a support cost.

The plain screw kits are steady. Only a small share of orders. Two packers can prepare those without me now.

That gives you a real limited option then. It might lose on volume, but at least it's not another promise that one more guide fixes every bag.

Does that small share arrive in useful runs or scattered among mixed orders? I mean the actual order sequence, not just the monthly quantity.

Good catch, Naomi. Grouping them could save setup time while making somebody else wait for their order; purchasing numbers alone won't show that.

Mostly mixed orders. I'm shelving the next guide and asking planning to price the screw-only option against our current packing route. Not selling the robot on the strength of one annoying afternoon.

Post what they find. Particularly whether batching those kits helps packing overall or only makes the trial look less awkward.
