I'm reviewing an FR5 bracket proposal that copies the old fixture but omits its straightening bench. Nobody explained why.

Do you know whether the old brackets needed that bench routinely, or only for occasional rework?

No. Records show clamped checks, then some released failures. Straightening has no separate count.

Who signed off the assumption that the bench can disappear? That's the decision you need reopened while the old process is untangled

Had a layout lose a manual check because nobody put it in the cycle list. The operator still did it, just with nowhere sensible to stand. Anika, is the person who used this bench in your review?

Not yet. I've asked the former setter to join quality and the fixture designer.

Setter says it was frequent, but can't identify which recorded parts were corrected. We need that uncertainty visible.

Can quality define a comparison that measures the released bracket before any correction, alongside the incoming fit-up? That would answer what the old sheets keep skipping

Do any untouched retained brackets exist? A look at those might help the designer frame the comparison, even if the old paperwork cannot give you a reliable rate.

A few tagged samples remain. Quality will review them; layout approval paused until the process decision is clearer.

Give the person drawing the layout that pause explicitly. Otherwise they'll keep optimising the space around a job that still needs deciding.
