The supplier demonstrated vacuum pickup on a smooth carton. Our packed boxes have a taped overlap across that area, plus two board finishes. I haven't seen one of ours fail because they haven't tried one. I want the proposed UR5e tooling assessed on our incoming mix before accepting it.
Send identified packed samples from both finishes and show the tape variation, with the proposed cup positions marked; I would ask for the complete transfer and release, not only the moment a box leaves the bench.
They have samples now. Proposed cup positions avoid the nominal seam, but our tape sometimes wanders into that area. I have included examples rather than a single neat top photograph.
Useful, and ask whether they are changing the cup arrangement for different samples or claiming one arrangement covers the whole supplied range; the operating cost differs rather a lot between those answers.
What response is proposed when a carton cannot be picked as expected? Include the operator's role in that assessment, so the normal trial and the recovery plan concern the same packaging conditions.
Current offer has no recovery description. I have requested it with the common-arrangement comparison. A separate layout for each carton source would need pricing as a different proposal.
Please post whether they can cover the mix with one arrangement; our pallet discussions keep finding that a small packaging assumption has quietly become someone else's daily preparation job.
