our refill-pouch trial keeps acquiring another presentation job

I have spent a lot of time on our FR10 pouch loading, and the transfer is now reliable when I prepare the pouches. That qualification is becoming rather large. Every product change needs another guide adjustment, and I am not convinced the complete packing job is improving.

Time the complete order against the existing packing method, including your preparation and guide changes. Also let the person who would inherit it do the setup. Otherwise you may be measuring how good you've become at supporting your own demonstration.

The packer has tried it. She can make the usual refill work, but the wider pouch needs me to alter the guides. We have not timed the whole order with those interruptions included.

Would limiting the trial to the usual refill remove a real production problem?

Zara's subset could be worth comparing, but include the shared bench space it occupies. An easy product which runs occasionally may not earn a permanent arrangement that everyone else has to move around.

The usual refill is a frequent job, so we will compare that limited scope. The wider pouch returns to the manual route. No more guide development during the comparison; the production lead and packer will review the complete workload with me.

Keep the scope limit in the handover, not only in your own notes.

Did the narrower trial earn its bench space, Callum? Interested whether it still helps once preparation, clearing away and the packer's interruptions are counted, not just whether you avoided another guide.
