What assessment should precede powering our damaged FR10 delivery?

Our FR10 crate arrived with a crushed corner and a displaced support touching the tool-interface cover. I retained it unpowered and photographed everything. Seller asks for a powered video, without an inspection plan.

Leave it unpowered. Ask for a competent service assessment covering the visible damage and where the load from that shifted support went. A video of it moving won't answer that.

I've requested that assessment. The cover is dented beside the interface, with a scrape continuing underneath. We have not removed anything.

Have they seen the whole crate, not only the dent?

Yes, wide arrival views and close-ups, linked to the unit and crate labels. Thank you, Oscar; I checked that the wide views actually uploaded.

We once sent damage photographs that made the box look worse than the equipment, then spent ages explaining where the support had landed. Your wide and close views should help. Has their service team replied, or only sales?

Do not let 'cover damage' become the agreed diagnosis. That is the visible area; assessment still needs to establish what else may be affected.

Tell whoever schedules the tray-transfer installation that the unit is held. Otherwise a booking can carry on quietly while everybody else discusses photographs.

Also tell the other shift why it's held, so they don't arrive to a machine-shaped problem and a seller message saying switch it on.

Who is being asked to arrange the assessor?

Chen, ask the seller for a named service contact and a written assessment route, including who arranges and pays for it. You shouldn't have to invent their inspection procedure.

Rachel, sales only so far. Oscar and Rebecca, seller has now referred it to service. Installation is held and both shifts know, Sarah and Aileen. No assessor assigned yet.

I'd chase the assignment before paying for a visit yourself. An independent assessment might be useful, but agree what the seller will do with it and who bears the cost first.

Service offered a cover replacement but has not answered the inspection-scope question. I asked again about the displaced support and scrape. Nothing shipped or authorised for fitting.

A replacement offer doesn't close the damage assessment. Keep asking about the affected assembly, not just the appearance of its cover.

Keep the installation hold visible while that is unresolved. A proposed spare cover will look like a solution to someone reading only the newest email.
