Why is our FR10 panel test only about suction?

Our FR10 proposal has a good seal report. My thin coated panels still bow between the contacts.

The unsupported spans belong in the tooling assessment. Is the bow visible in an actual handling trial, or are you describing the shape of a panel laid over the proposed contacts? Those are different observations to give the designer

Laid over their contact layout. We haven't had a complete handling trial.

I've seen a padded bench make a flexible part look remarkably well supported.

We had that with a cover sheet. The demonstration worked because someone carried it onto a support first, which was the awkward operation we wanted to remove. Have they said who prepares your stack?

I'd want the receiving nest in the same study, even if they add support to the pickup. A panel that arrives flat can still be awkward to release.

Chloe, normal packing stacks it. Aaron, they've drawn the nest but haven't shown release.

Then the seal report isn't the bit I'd argue about. It's the missing operations.

Sam, the seal result still matters, but Thomas should not have to infer the handling method from it. Thomas, ask for the proposed contact and support arrangement through pickup, transfer and release, including what happens when a single panel cannot be established

Also ask whether they intend to alter the way packing supplies the stack. Extra separators might be a reasonable option, but packing has to agree to that work and cost.

Chloe, I'd price that as an alternative, not sneak it into the baseline. Their current stack is the starting point until Thomas says otherwise.

Yes, an option. I wouldn't assume packing can change it.

The revised offer assumes sheets between every panel. Packing won't take that extra operation.

Did they price anything for the stack you actually have?

No. They've said this proposed method depends on the separators.

That's a useful reason to decline this proposal. Doesn't mean you need to declare every possible panel-handling method impossible.

Keep the current packing arrangement in the next enquiry, along with the receiving nest and acceptable panel condition. You now have a specific excluded assumption rather than a vague request for a better gripper

We've declined that offer. Thanks Chloe; the packing question saved another round of seal samples.

Are you looking at a different handling concept next, or keeping this manual for now?
