Window blind masquerading as bezel damage

Our FR5 camera planning folder has a row of alleged scratches that line up rather well with the window blind, so I'm thinking a cheap screen and a few properly checked bezels before we price more lenses. Anyone sorted this kind of reference-image mess?

Can I ask whether you've still got those exact bezels? I'd start there rather than trying to judge damage from reflections in old pictures.

Three of them. Bagged and numbered, fortunately.

Get quality to look at them. Then you'll know which images belong to acceptable parts, even when the lighting makes them look awful.

Can I ask what made someone label the lines scratches in the first place, because the physical inspection notes might already answer part of this?

Me, pointing at the screen. No notes. Not my finest bit of inspection work.

Thanks for keeping the actual pieces, that's more than we had when a supplier asked us to reproduce a mysterious mark from a cropped photo.

I did much the same with machining marks once. The screen makes you terribly sure of yourself until somebody hands you the part.

Quality can look later. For now I've put the labels back to unconfirmed and kept the originals so I don't forget what I changed.

Keep the capture setup with each image too, because whoever repeats this trial will need to know where the light and sample were, not just which bezel it was.

Quality accepted two and rejected one for a nick at the inner edge, nowhere near my bright stripes. I've got a location photo for the nick now.

Use that accepted pair and rejected piece together when testing the screen; can the camera still show the real nick after you remove the blind reflection?

That's the bit I'd want to see.

Who's looking after those samples between trials? Ours went back into stock after a tidy-up and the next set wasn't quite the same finish.

Put a hold label on the bags before that happens.

They're on my trial shelf with hold labels. Screen test hasn't happened yet; I need the same lighting setup back before comparing images. At least we now know where the actual defect is.

Please bring back the comparison, I'd like to see whether the cheap screen helps without hiding that edge nick.
