I'd list the possible physical locations before choosing buttons for recovery. Source, held, destination and uncertain all need an explanation. The person taking over needs to know which observations they can trust, not simply which number the file last saved.

And what if the tray was changed? The old pocket might refer to a tray that's gone.

Tray identity isn't saved either. Added that to the recovery review. Current continuation stays out of production approval.

Who settles an uncertain puck location?

Shift lead and maintenance under the agreed recovery process. Operators won't be asked to select a likely pocket.

They need access and time for that role. Naming maintenance is easy; having the right person available with the right view of the tray is the bit that determines your downtime.

Can you test stops between each action offline before reviewing the physical recovery procedure?

Yes. Draft states now track tray identity and leave contradictory observations uncertain in offline checks. Physical procedure still under review.

Does changing the tray invalidate its saved recovery context now? I asked because that's easy to miss.

Yes, in the draft checks. It cannot silently reuse the previous tray's pocket index.

Will someone from the other shift read the proposed screen without your explanation? Ask them where they think the puck is and what they would do next. That can reveal wording the authors no longer notice.
