Why would powering this damaged FR10 pendant be our first check?

Our FR10 crate arrived with a crushed corner and a shifted support against the pendant enclosure. Visible damage there. Seller in China says switch it on and see. I have kept it unpowered, photographed the packing and retained everything. What should their technical assessment request cover?

Keep it unpowered. Send the equipment identifiers with wide packing views and damage close-ups, then ask for a competent inspection plan. A screen lighting up wouldn't tell you what the impact damaged. Their reply needs more than a hopeful switch-on instruction.

Sent the matched photos and labels. Installer wants an agreed inspection scope before booking. Seller now says the enclosure is cosmetic, without saying who inspected it or how.

Ask them to put a named technical person behind that assessment and explain its basis. Your installer can review it. Don't let the description cosmetic replace examination of the impact area and anything it may have affected.

Requested a technical review with the installer copied in. No inspection scope agreed yet. Packaging remains retained and setup is still unpowered; I have not promised production a start date.
