the cartons fit but their base supports don't

Our FR5 layer drawing rotates cases across the gaps left for the gripper fingers. Packing says the long base edges need support. I can see the conflict but don't know how to judge it. What should packaging and the tool supplier review together?

Show the case bases over the layer below, with the required support edges and the tool's release space marked. Confirm that the support instruction applies to this carton construction and its packed contents.

Packing confirmed the instruction. There's an internal divider with narrow feet. We had only shown the outside rectangle on the layout.

Add those feet to the support view, then ask packaging which placements they can accept. The tool supplier can check release access at those positions without guessing how the carton carries its load.

They've proposed a different second layer. Tool supplier is checking it now. No loaded trial yet, so we're keeping approval open.

Make sure the trial uses that same revised pattern and the actual packing arrangement. It would be easy to test a similar-looking case without the divider that drove this change.
