FR5 crate arrived crushed at one corner, supports shifted, visible damage near the pendant enclosure. Kept packaging and arrival photos. Seller says switch it on; I'm holding our fixture-loading setup for a proper assessment.

Keep it unpowered and ask for a qualified assessor and a written scope for the delivered damage. An informal power-on suggestion is not that scope. Include the overall packing damage and shifted supports, not only the closest enclosure photo; the assessor needs the arrival context too.

Installer has offered an assessment proposal. Sent the full arrival sequence and identification to the seller's technical contact; no visit or costs agreed yet.

Does the proposal cover the observed damage, or only checking whether the unit starts?

It proposes inspection of the affected areas before deciding further checks. Technical contact has acknowledged it, but sales hasn't answered the cost question. Still unpowered.

That is a better starting point than switch on. Keep acknowledgement separate from agreement, though; neither the inspection appointment nor who bears its cost has been settled by the technical contact receiving the proposal.

Agreed. Receiving record says assessment proposed, not arranged. Thanks, Sofia; I also kept the support-displacement photos instead of sending only the dent close-up.

Keep the packaging held too. The assessment may still need that evidence.
