Our UR5e picks spacer blocks squarely at the near end of the tray and crookedly at the far end. We've nudged the pickup twice. I'd like a cheap physical check before we buy new fingers.

Looks like it from above. I haven't seen underneath since the tray insert was replaced, which sounds fairly silly now I've typed it.

19分Yes, old insert is still on the shelf. I've added that to the inspection request. Not calling the new one wrong yet.
7分Also compare the block's seating in the near and far pockets. A tray can sit properly on its supports and still hold a part differently. Your location pattern gives maintenance something useful to look at.
13分Are you using the same identified block when comparing those two positions? Different blocks could muddy that quite quickly.
-3分The clips use different blocks. Thanks, Hazel; I'll ask for a same-block comparison when maintenance checks the insert. We haven't got enough evidence to blame either fingers or tray yet.
13分Did the underside comparison find anything?
20分There is a raised edge on the new insert near the rear locating contact. Maintenance has sent it to the toolmaker to check against the drawing. Same-block comparison hasn't happened yet.
4分Ask them to explain that edge before changing it. It may be an intended feature or a fault, and the drawing check should settle that more usefully than another pickup nudge.
