How should the pallet simulation show unsupported carton ends?

I built the alternating-layer model for an FR10 proposal and concentrated on collisions. Packaging then pointed out that the rotated case ends sit above gaps in the layer below. The animation looks convincing because it treats every carton as a rigid block. I need to correct what the review can reasonably conclude from it

Show the support areas on the model, but do not pretend that colouring them gives a strength assessment. Packaging still needs to judge the real arrangement.

I have added the reinforced end areas from the current packing drawing. Several now visibly cross gaps. The model still has no carton deformation behaviour.

Put that limitation beside the review output. People remember the movie more readily than the discussion. A collision-free rigid block is very obliging; a filled carton may not be.

Our team once watched a demo three times before anyone asked where the boxes came from. Show the incoming carton condition as well. Packing staff will spot whether your lovely square samples look like what they actually handle.

Are the cartons in the tool model held in the same orientation as the packaging drawing assumes? I would check that before changing the layer order.

They are, but the tool supplier proposes turning one row during placement. I had rendered only the finished stack, not that intermediate state.

Then add the intermediate placement and tool withdrawal. Or rather, show those for each distinct position, not just the easiest case at an empty corner.

I would ask packaging which cases need a physical trial before expanding the simulation. You could spend days animating an arrangement they already know they will reject.

Packaging wants a different second layer assessed first. I'm keeping the original model as rejected for support review, and preparing the new candidate without an approved label.

Did they explain the change in words packing staff can use? I mean which ends need support, not a screenshot everyone has to memorise.

Caleb, has the proposed second layer reached the tool supplier yet? Your revised model may need different opening clearances as well as a different order.

Sent to them with the marked support areas. Packaging described the required end support too; I will include that explanation with the eventual operator material.

Will you retain a view of why the first candidate failed? It could stop someone restoring it later because it has the nicer carton count.
