The arm fits until someone needs the mill handle

We taped out our proposed FR10 position beside the mill and I could reach the fixture just fine. Then the setter tried to open the door from his normal spot and found himself standing where the robot base would go. I'm supposed to train evenings on this eventually. Has anyone managed to review robot access and manual changeover on the same layout?

Which access do you need during changeover? Loading a blank is one envelope. Getting a vice out is another. A reach line on a plan won't settle either, and the person teaching this deserves more than a dot labelled operator.

He swaps the jaws and sometimes lifts the whole vice out. The plan gives him a standing square but no route to get the trolley beside him.

Put the trolley on it. Actual size, handle included. Then walk the sequence with the setter. I've seen lovely robot demos beside machines nobody could service without dismantling half the installation.

Did that with floor tape this morning. Trolley fits when parked, can't turn into the square. Our aisle is doing more work on paper than in real life.

There you go. Does moving the base fix the turn, or only move the obstruction? You still need the robot's tool and held part on that revised layout before anyone says the new position works.

Could a different trolley approach work? It may be less disruptive, though I'd want the setter to try it before calling it an answer

Possibly, but don't swap a blocked route for lifting the vice at arm's length. Keep the actual handling task in the review. The trolley isn't just a rectangle to pack into spare floor space.

Our night team lost the only usable stance when a cabinet was added. Bring the cabinet and cable routes into this review now. Ask the evening setter to do the walk-through too; day shift won't spot what they store there.

Evening setter came over. His coolant trolley uses that same gap. Nobody had put it on the plan because it only comes out for cleaning.

Then cleaning belongs on the plan. Temporary kit still takes up actual space.

I'd take three drawings to the review: automatic operation, changeover, cleaning. Same fixed equipment in each. Let the conflicting tasks show up instead of piling every possible trolley into one unreadable picture.

We've got those three versions now. A base move looks promising but needs checking with the gripper model. At least I can show why the original standing square wasn't enough.
