FR10 tooling quotes leave the extended assembly out of the load

I need both proposed housing tools assessed as complete loaded assemblies. Quotes justify the FR10 from steel housing mass alone, leaving extended fingers, adapter and fittings unexplained. What details belong in the comparison?

Identify each complete assembly, its mass properties and intended operating conditions, then assess them against the applicable robot limits. Part mass alone does not describe an offset held load.

One gives gripper mass separately. Neither gives the loaded centre of gravity or finger definition. Hose fittings are not in either sketch.

Then adding the two weights would still leave most of the question unanswered. Ask for the actual geometry and mass distribution of what they propose to fit, because custom fingers can move both while the catalogue gripper name remains impressively constant.

I would make the supplier identify which assumptions its quoted cycle uses too. Otherwise a later technical assessment can restrict the operating conditions while the old cycle estimate survives untouched in another column.

Both received the same request. First supplier now says its speed estimate was illustrative, not based on our complete loaded tool. We have marked that time provisional.

Who keeps the final assembly and replacement references when this is installed, Mia, so maintenance doesn't have to solve the same identification problem each time a finger needs replacing?

Grace's handover question belongs in scope now. Changes outside the approved assembly should have a review owner, not rely on the replacement fitting the same screw holes.

Integrator will own the assembly revision and change review. Toolmakers must supply the replacement references. Nobody has yet returned the complete loaded assessment.

Does the comparison also distinguish the grip orientation each supplier assumes? A housing can occupy a different position on the same-looking fingers, which changes more than how nice the render looks.

Good point. One holds across the housing, the other along it. Both orientations are now explicit in the candidate sheets rather than one generic part outline.

Then compare the transfer route under those actual orientations too. That is distinct from the load limit assessment but needs the same candidate definitions.

Agreed. Purchasing is waiting on the defined candidates and revised performance basis. I am not treating the lower quote as technically equivalent just because both list FR10.

Thanks for keeping the maintenance ownership in it; a final drawing without somebody responsible for changes would only postpone this conversation until the first repair.
