I'm reviewing the FR5 sample-check interface because our application sometimes misses the PLC request. It's a brief pulse and the notes don't clearly say who owns or clears it. Reference plate in the cell. This is only the ordinary job handshake; independently engineered safety controls remain separate.
Can the PLC and application owners agree a request-and-acknowledgement sequence with explicit clearing, timeout and restart cases, then review it against a captured missed request before implementing anything? Faster polling alone would leave the ownership ambiguity intact, and none of this replaces the separate safety controls.
