I have another bracket route to price, this one for a UR5e proposal. The supplier's comparison uses final angle averages from batches that included manual correction. I can recover individual final readings, but not which brackets went through the press. Is there a useful comparison left, or should I ask for a fresh sample run?
The final readings still describe accepted output. They cannot show the uncorrected process if the corrected pieces are mixed in. Are any untouched samples retained?
I'd plan the fresh run while that search continues. We can spend ages protecting a little box of samples from being called inconclusive, then still need new samples at the end.
The former inspector says the box was kept after final acceptance. I've asked welding and quality to scope a new run with readings before correction as well as after it.
Purchasing wants to compare the two fixture offers now. I've left correction labour as an unresolved line rather than using the old final average to remove it.
Ask them to include the checking work in that scope too. We found useful fixture notes in a handover once, but nobody had priced the separate inspection that made the final figures trustworthy. That became somebody else's surprise job.
Both now have the same sample and inspection request. One quote includes attendance for the review, the other has not answered that part. No trial results yet
Who is holding the sample identities through the run? Give that job to someone before everyone starts moving brackets between benches and calling them the first one.
