I'm reviewing gripper samples for a UR5e placing finished collars in inspection trays, and our team cannot agree whether a faint ring on the visible surface is acceptable.
The supplier proposes softer pads. I would rather establish the surface criterion and then test holding and clean release together, but I need something more concrete than five people tilting a collar under five lights.
Have quality define the viewing conditions and retain agreed examples of acceptable and unacceptable marks. Then compare pad options on identified parts under the planned handling conditions, including release. A pad that looks gentle but leaves the collar hanging on one finger has not passed the job.
