Which FR5 quote includes teaching the person who covers breaks?

I cannot compare our boxed-module packing proposals while both say training included but one describes a supplier demonstration and the other two sessions at our bench; presentation fixtures and guarding are now priced separately, and I want the handover cost equally visible.

Who attends each offer, and which jobs are they meant to learn?

The demonstration is for one visitor at the supplier; the local sessions name our operator and maintainer, but neither proposal mentions break cover or recovery after an interrupted transfer.

We brought back one very enthusiastic person from a supplier visit. Then they took leave. The people left behind had photographs of a clean run and a phone number abroad. I'd want somebody less familiar with the cell included in the local handover, with time to ask awkward questions.

A supplier visit could still be useful for your technical lead. It just shouldn't take the place of operator training at the installed job. Ask for separate prices rather than rejecting a useful activity because it isn't the whole answer.

Does either offer price making the instructions, or only delivering the session?

Louis is right about the visit. I'd keep it distinct, then describe the actual handover you need: operators, relief cover and maintenance, with agreed normal and interrupted cases. The supplier can price against that instead of promising training as a noun.

Gabriel, the local offer includes job-specific instructions, while the visit offer only includes its standard guide; Hana, I have sent both suppliers the same handover scope with the visit shown as a separate option.

Thanks, that clears it up. I wasn't arguing against sending someone to learn from the supplier, Louis. I was arguing against expecting that person to become a complete training department on the flight home.

Understood. Also allow your own people's attendance time. The supplier can price a session perfectly and your total still assumes nobody has to cover the operator's normal work.

Attendance and cover are now in our internal allowance, including the relief operator; the supervisor has agreed who can attend, rather than us guessing that everyone can leave the bench together.

That's much more usable. Do the revised prices distinguish the first handover from follow-up help if the job changes? You don't need unlimited support, but you do need to know what runs out.

Have both suppliers answered the revised scope?

Only the local supplier has answered in full, with a defined follow-up visit and later support charged separately; the other still prices the demonstration alone, so I have left its handover cost unresolved rather than comparing the two headline totals.
