Was the gusset bracket measured from the same face after release?

A bracket in an old inspection photo looked bent until we noticed it was sitting on a weld bead. That is why I'm suspicious of the notes I've been given for an FR5 welding proposal. They say the gusseted bracket met the position check in its fixture and failed afterwards. The released photograph shows it lying flat, but I can't tell what it is resting on. Would you trust the claimed movement without knowing how the second measurement picked up the drawing datum?

Is the fixture check measuring the drawing requirement, or just showing the bracket touches the stops?

Just contact with the stops. Found the check sheet behind the photos. No dimension recorded while restrained, so my description of two measurements was generous.

Then the useful comparison is missing, though the released failure may still be real if they supported and measured it properly.

I'd also ask who decided it needed correction. Operators may have been told to bring it back to a fixture stop, while inspection wanted a different feature corrected. What does the actual reject note say?
