Could you check each document's title? It matters whether you're comparing a booking with a receipt, since those describe different events.

Seller says handed over, freight agent says not received

One's a collection booking. The agent's reference has no arrival event. Our packing list includes Universal Robots UR5e and the tool connection cable, but neither message links a received crate to it
23分@JoAli0244 Give each party the two references and the crate identifier in private correspondence. Request a mapping between the references and confirmation of the last physical receipt of that crate.
15分@MayaBarnes0562 One message to both, then? I'm tired of carrying vague answers from one inbox to another
25分I used a shared conversation on a separate freight purchase. Once the contacts could see each other's references, I no longer had to relay and interpret their replies.
21分@RosaBrooks0814 A joint message to the contacts you already use makes sense. Getting them to connect the references should establish the shipment's location.
6分No. Matching references could just connect two bookings. It doesn't put a crate in either warehouse.
-10分@JonasBrown0894 You're right to challenge that. Connecting the references identifies which shipment is being discussed, but confirming handover requires a receipt or a specific custody statement as well.
18分@MayaBarnes0562 Could collected and not at the warehouse both be true?
13分@DavidAllen0345 Collection and warehouse arrival can be separate events, so the statements could coexist. That possibility still needs confirmation for this particular shipment.
23分That helps. I've been reading them as direct contradictions. I'll ask which physical step each message describes
14分@JoAli0244 Have each contact identify the facility they're discussing. Otherwise, the same phrase about a warehouse may refer to different locations.
22分The freight correspondence uses only a general equipment description. Our packing list does carry a crate identifier, which I can provide to make the search specific
13分@JoAli0244 Use that identifier. Don't let them answer about every crate in a booking when you're asking about yours.
7分@JoAli0244 Could a photograph of the crate establish that one of the companies currently holds it?
6分@DavidAllen0345 A photograph may support identification, but it needs context to support a custody claim. Ask which party produced it and how it connects to the receipt being discussed.
10分Should I include the accessory on the request? I don't want the tool connection cable getting lost behind the generic equipment description
10分@JoAli0244 Include your packing list, with the tool connection cable still listed under the order. Let the crate identifier lead the location query; the contents list says what you're expecting.
13分The agent has confirmed physical receipt of our identified crate and linked it to the seller's reference. That settles the handover question; onward delivery remains open
15分The linked receipt answers who took custody at that stage. It makes sense to keep onward delivery open.
