Block looks square in the pocket, crooked while held. Existing clip doesn't show the contact clearly. Saved the program versions and asked maintenance to record the grip as found.

Include the loading operator in that record. They may know which blocks were set aside or which tray was awkward before the edits, even if nobody wrote it on the maintenance ticket.

I have found a correct-looking finger fitted over an old spacer before. Compare the fitted stack with the approved drawing, not just the finger label.

Maintainer found one finger mounting stack differs from the drawing. Extra shim on one side. We have photographed it in place; no explanation for when it was added yet.

That is a mismatch, but don't assume removing it restores the program. Some of those pickup edits may have been compensating for it.

Is there a recorded tooling revision that authorised the shim?

Tooling owner checked the change records. No authorised shim arrangement; current drawing calls for the matched mounting stacks. They've specified restoration and a review of the saved point changes before controlled checks.

Retain which points were changed and why any are kept. Resetting every edit is no more reasoned than keeping every edit.

And give the next operator the recognisable condition, not just a revision number. Matched fingers can still be put back over that loose shim if it stays in the changeover kit.

Restored assembly passed the agreed supervised pickup and placement checks across the tray with retained blocks. Approved point set is documented. The shim is segregated with the fault evidence, not left in the tooling drawer.

Did the person covering changeovers use the revised setup sheet, or was that still the maintainer doing the checks?
