I've spent 35 days chasing our FR5 and controller cable. Seller says collected, agent says awaiting receipt. Their references don't match. What actually links a booking to a crate?

The crate mark and a physical handover record, then the agent's matching receipt; ask the seller who collected it and where they took it, not just whether transport was booked.

The collecting business found its delivery record. Different warehouse from the one our agent had searched. I've sent the crate mark and that receipt to the agent.

Ask that warehouse to confirm the crate is still there, because a receipt explains arrival but not any move since.

Warehouse checked and sent a current photo of our marked crate. Agent has matched it to the booking. Location finally known; onward departure isn't booked yet.
