What was inspected on this FR5 apart from its paint?

A customer is considering a refurbished FR5 for loading plastic spacers into trays. I have been asked to arrange collection. The listing says inspected but gives no test scope or package identities. I want those settled before transport gets booked. What would you request first?

Get the actual package identities and itemised contents before discussing collection.

The seller sent readable arm and controller labels. The controller differs from the one shown in the original listing. Pendant and cables are still described only as included.

Ask why the controller changed and what checks cover that supplied combination.

And ask for the inspection results, not just another inspected label.

They say the first controller was a display item. The offered controller now has an identified functional test sheet, but the sheet lists no arm identity. I have asked them to connect the records.

Hold the transport enquiry until they answer. Otherwise the easy bit gets booked and everyone starts treating the equipment decision as already made.

Collection is unbooked. Customer agrees that we need an equipment assessment first. The attractive price still interests them, but I have separated that from the cost of making this useful in their cell.

Good. What does their refurbishment claim actually cover? Cleaning and a changed controller would be a rather different purchase from an overhaul with a work list.

Their work list covers cleaning, one cable replacement and inspection. It does not claim a general overhaul. The listing's heading was doing more work than the detail underneath.

Will the seller permit an independent assessor to examine the identified package before your customer commits to buying it, with the visit scope agreed in advance? That would make the assessment cost easier to justify.

Include support terms and any unresolved findings in that enquiry.

They permit assessment before purchase. Our assessor has proposed a scope and asked for the linked arm/controller test record. Support terms are back, including where paid repair work would be handled.

Does the contents list name the replacement cable now?

Yes, Ada. It names the cable and the other included items. The seller has also supplied the missing arm identity against the test record. Assessor is reviewing the documents before agreeing the visit.

Has the customer allowed for tooling and integration as well as that visit? None of this used-package checking demonstrates the spacer-loading job yet.

They have. The budget now separates purchase, assessment, transport and the application work. Assessor has agreed the visit scope with the seller; no visit result and no purchase decision yet. Thanks for keeping the contents question ahead of collection.

Please post what the assessment finds.
