Conflicting scratch labels on our bezel images

I am reviewing the reference images for a planned FR5 bezel inspection station. A bright streak moves between views, but each image calls it a scratch. We still have the bezels. What should quality establish on the physical samples before we pay for a larger image collection? I do not want to buy more examples of an unverified label.

Ask them to identify the actual marks and judge them under the agreed appearance check, with each decision tied to its bezel; then you'll know what the camera is meant to find.

They found a nick on one bezel and no scratch where the bright streak appears. We have recorded the nick location and retained that sample for the imaging trial.

Does that nick fail the appearance check?

Could you keep the camera and lighting positions with those images too? I've seen a comparison lose its value because nobody knew what had moved between shots.
