Don't let them call that whole total welding time then. We once planned a changeover from a number that also contained waiting for inspection. It made every later comparison look odd.

You can still use the combined old total as a whole-job comparison if its start and finish are clear. You just cannot claim to have isolated the welding saving from it.

I have removed the under-clamp check from final acceptance. Quality will define the released check.

Alex, an estimate can help planning if its source and uncertainty stay visible. I would not fill empty historical columns with it and pretend those were measured task times.
