our fr5 housing leans when the fingers close

Housing looks level in the tray and leans at closing. We have accumulated pickup edits, not an explanation. What should maintenance compare before another correction is added?

The actual seat and complete finger pair, with the same identified housing and saved job versions.

We have that housing and the fitted pair. A spare pair in stores looks different behind the faces. Nobody has confirmed which assembly belongs here.

Keep the spare out of the comparison until its reference is understood. In our current spacer work, a good-looking pickup didn't answer what happened at the tray, and we nearly let that one reassuring view stand for the whole transfer. Your first change is at closing, so that's a useful place to concentrate the observation. I still wouldn't choose the spare because it looks straighter on the bench. Ask tooling to identify the intended complete assembly, including what sits behind each contact face.

Do both pairs have identifiable references, Oliver? Stores descriptions can outlive several changes to the actual parts.

Fitted pair has marked references. Spare bag has a label but the fingers themselves aren't marked. I've kept those two levels of identification separate in the request.

And do not assume the bag proves what is inside it.

Has tooling compared the fitted backing parts with its drawing yet? Interested whether the face difference is intentional or just the wrong pieces stored together.

Drawing comparison requested, no answer yet. The fitted pair remains retained with the as-found photographs. No replacement chosen.

Does maintenance have the first-contact view as well as those photographs? The assembly comparison and the moment the housing starts to lean should inform each other.

Julia, yes. Otherwise we can spend a week proving the spare is unidentified while Oliver's original movement remains unexamined.

And keep the current housing with that investigation; an unmarked substitute would add another uncertainty just as the tooling references become clearer.
