Fixture labour missing from my UR5e estimate

I priced the UR5e and gripper for unloading our moulded mounting blocks, then described fixture work as a small extra; my colleague has asked what small means in hours, and I do not have an honest answer yet.

Who actually removes the block now, and what do they do between unloads?

Our assembler unloads it between inspection and packing, so the saved seconds would be scattered through work she already does.

Observe that whole sequence before buying a trial. Time spent waiting, preparing and clearing the fixture belongs in the comparison. Ask the assembler which task she could actually stop doing if unloading were automated.

Thank you, Gabriel; I was treating each unload as if it occupied a separate person, and I will ask her to walk us through an ordinary order before we define the pilot.

And let your colleague price the fixture work before calling it small again.

There may still be a useful handling improvement. Just leave room for the observation to point somewhere other than an arm purchase.
