Our UR5e spacer tilts as the fingers close

Our spacer block looks level in its source fixture, then one end rises as the fingers close. Repeated pickup corrections have not stopped it. I want the contacts checked before another point change.

We had mismatched pads do that on sleeves. Have maintenance compare the fitted contact references and their seating with the assembly drawing. Not saying yours is the same fault, but it is a useful physical check before teaching around it.

Were either of the contacts replaced or reworked before this started, Jamie?

Also check what looks level means. A front view can hide a block sitting on a rear corner. You need the seat and the grip in the same explanation.

Use a retained block alongside a current one if you have it, because buying contacts won't answer whether the incoming part changed

Pavel, one contact was dressed after damage. Lucy, level is only from the operator's view so far. Dinesh Bennett, we retained the first accepted block.

Who accepted that dressed contact for this job? The repair description may matter more than its original part number.

And note which job version each pickup correction belongs to, so the integrator can later compare them with whatever physical condition is found.

Was the damage on the contact face?

Can the person who dressed it show what was removed, or is the shift note just repaired?

Ash is right. Matching references would not establish the present shape after somebody has reworked one face. I should have included condition in my first reply.

Noah, the references are still useful. I just found a spare from another family in the wrong kit. Jamie needs both identity and the actual repaired shape checked.

Please don't let the repair story stop the source-seat check either. It is plausible, but Jamie hasn't yet confirmed the block starts square from another view.

Elliot, the contact face was damaged. Beth, the note says dressed smooth with no dimensional check. Ash, I cannot find who accepted it back into this job. Maintenance is comparing it with the drawing.

Jamie, has the retained block reached that comparison too, or only the current one?

Yes, Dinesh Bennett. Both blocks seat square in the static fixture check from front and rear. Both meet the dressed contact differently from the other side. Maintenance has measured the faces for tooling to assess.

Thanks, that narrows the question. Is the repaired contact still in use while tooling decides?

For the eventual return check, include release into the tray as well as the square pickup; our sleeve comparison needed both before we closed it.

Ash, no, this transfer is paused. The measured contact shape differs from the drawing and tooling has not accepted it. Dinesh Carter, release is included in the requested return check.

Who owns getting a serviceable contact back to the bench? Otherwise paused becomes the handover all by itself.
