Cannot choose our FR10 position from a blank-only mill sketch

Closed tool assembly has arrived and overlaps the open door on the proposed withdrawal; open fingers and the rear connection arrangement are still missing from the model

Is that stand position fixed, or just proposed?

I would compare a second defined position if the bay permits it. Before anyone spends a week finding a clever tool for the first dot on the floor, ask which space is actually available.

Position is only proposed, Priya; the survey includes fixture removal on its handling aid, Chloe, and the workshop lead permits comparison of one side position, Jonas, but not moving the changeover area

That gives the integrator two real cases. Keep the same actual blank and required grip in both, or a nicer route may quietly depend on holding it differently without an assessment.

Anil, agreed, though a changed tool could be a legitimate third option if someone defines it. I meant avoid treating the first position as compulsory, not ban other arrangements.

Tool supplier has also proposed a shorter adapter for the original position; I have asked for its complete assembly and held-blank geometry, with the side-position comparison continuing separately

Has anyone ordered the stand already?

The shorter adapter needs the complete handling assessment as well as clearance. Don't let reducing the sketch's overlap become the entire specification for a replacement tool.

Now the comparison can answer something. Which arrangement clears withdrawal and return, Owen, and which of those preserves the actual changeover route?

Chloe's assessment point still matters if the shorter assembly clears. It may change the grip position relative to the wrist or the route between the mill and destination; neither should be assumed unchanged.

Side position clears the machine but blocks fixture removal; shorter-adapter version at the original position still clashes on the open-tool return, so neither currently gives us an acceptable layout

Then why keep that bay in the purchase plan?

Fair question. There may be another defined option, but Owen has already said the changeover area stays. Don't make the setter surrender it just because the first two drawings were expensive to obtain.

Has the workshop lead accepted that result, Owen? The buying summary should carry both failed cases and the actual access reasons, not just say further layout work required.

Lead accepted it and we have stopped this FR10 purchase for the present bay; both route failures and the retained changeover requirement are in the decision, with no alternative location authorised for study

That is enough to stop spending on this layout. A different location, if one becomes available later, can be a new comparison rather than an undocumented promise hidden in this one.
