I can identify the gusseted bracket and its final accepted check in our FR5 planning file. The earlier fixture check says aligned, then fabrication records straightening, but there is no first released dimension. I'm happy to retain the correction history. I'm not happy calling its estimated duration a measured saving for the new fixture.
Could the supervisor identify the basis of that duration separately from the inspection history, so you can retain an estimate without presenting it as a timed result from this bracket?
He based it on what he remembers from that product family. It includes waiting for inspection, though he couldn't split the two parts of the allowance.
Worth checking that. In one file I reviewed, the supposed correction was planned machining already costed elsewhere. The word correction was added in a later summary. Yours may really be straightening, but the original operation description matters

Include the restrained and released states as different observations. A model holding the bracket at nominal geometry should not be treated as a prediction of its released condition.
Quality selected an ordinary current batch, not only failures. We are recording incoming fit-up, fixture identity, first released check, any correction and final check against each bracket. Active work and waiting have separate entries.
Other work is included. The first observation followed six brackets: four passed at first release, two needed straightening and reinspection. Waiting for the shared inspector took longer than the active correction on those two.
We've removed the old measured-saving claim. The estimator has this six-bracket observation and its scope, plus the supervisor's separately labelled wider estimate. We aren't extrapolating six parts into a guarantee for the FR5 fixture.
