Bracket release readings missing from the fixture proposal

Two fabricators, one still here; he remembers checking every piece and correcting some, but not how many.

Get him beside the old fixture if it's still around. Ours had a little stop added that never made the drawing, and the only person who knew why was the one everybody thought was just operating it.

I'd still want current samples rather than a room agreeing what they remember; useful background, but you can't get the missing released readings back by interviewing people.

Both are worth doing. The current trial needs a defined setup, and the old operator may explain a contact or correction you would otherwise copy without understanding. I wouldn't discard that knowledge because it isn't a measurement.

Is the old fixture actually available?

Liam, old fixture is still on a rack; Grace, no replacement order, and purchasing has the hold noted. Amy, current samples are requested, but we need the review scope agreed first.

Keep each bracket's readings linked through the stages when you do the new trial, or you'll end up with three tidy averages and the same missing before-and-after answer.

Include any correction between those readings as an identified operation. Otherwise a later reader may attribute its result to the welding fixture alone, which is the ambiguity you have now.

I would give the person writing operator instructions those stages too. Our handover once jumped straight from weld complete to accepted assembly. Nobody reading it could see the separate inspection decision, so every doubtful part became a call to the programmer.

Alex, different support points, confirmed with inspection; the clamped check was fit-up only. Ravi and Jane, new trial request now follows piece identities through release, correction if needed, and final acceptance.

Does the old fixture have an undocumented change like Luis described, or is yours still as drawn?

Amy, I'm with you on needing new measurements. I just don't want the trial built around a stop nobody has asked about. That was the expensive bit on ours.

Hassan, there is an extra side stop, and the fabricator is reviewing it with the designer; Emma, trainer gets the full route, not just the final ticks. Still no current trial result.

Fair enough, Luis, that extra stop is exactly why I wouldn't call the old drawing the setup; Victor, glad you've got the designer looking at the actual thing.
