Which nest contacts make our FR10 mounting brackets rock?

Our mounting-bracket nest has several convincing surface contacts in CAD, but retained bench samples seat differently; before we accept a stronger clamp for the FR10 plan, how should tooling check whether those contacts compete with the intended locating references?

Compare the actual samples and fitted nest with the drawing datums first, then have the designer explain which contacts locate and which only support load; more clamp can conceal conflicting location without making it correct.

The designer's first comparison shows the extra side pad is acting as another fixed locator against a surface not used as a drawing datum; the samples have differing clearance there, so we have held the stronger-clamp proposal while tooling reviews that constraint.

Keep the actual sample variation in the revised assessment, not just the nominal bracket that sits nicely; and confirm whether the extra pad needs a support function before deciding that removing a contact is automatically the answer.
