What did our FR5 locator trial actually improve?

The tray stopped creeping sideways. The grip looked similar, but the short supervised run had no misses.

Describe those observations with the first tray identified, then state that the replacement missed. The locator may have solved one movement without establishing that all trays locate consistently.

Keep both trays. Cheaper than arguing from memory.

I've watched a locator blamed for a tray that never reached it properly. Not saying that's yours. I'd want to see the actual contact on the replacement before calling the idea bad.

Pavel, yes. Sarah, did anybody see the replacement seated at the locator before that miss?

Not the lower contact. Our view is from above. Both trays are marked and retained now.

Then the replacement's seating is still unknown. Make that explicit in the update, so the next shift doesn't read a suspected locator fault as an established one.

Can the loader normally see that lower contact, Sarah? A check nobody can see is more of a wish.

No. The skirt hides it. I've asked the fixture designer how the loader is supposed to check seating.

Has the designer actually compared both tray skirts yet?

And keep the label locations in that comparison. Anything on the contact face belongs in the physical setup, not outside the trial because it looks like paperwork.

Both trays are with the designer. One has a thicker skirt at that corner. No label on the contact, Toby.

Who controls which tray version is issued for this job? The eventual design decision needs to reach stores as well as the people doing the current comparison.

Stores owns issue. I've told them interchangeability is still open. My update now credits the first tray's reduced movement and names the replacement miss separately.

Good distinction. No need to buy another locator until that comparison answers something.
