Trim-plate scratch labels without a physical location

Our FR5 inspection enquiry includes brushed trim-plate images with scratch arrows, but nobody has identified the supposed defects on the retained metal. I already need consistent capture settings; what inexpensive reference check should precede any threshold work?

Have quality judge the identified retained plates against the applicable finish requirement, with the full images beside them, so each confirmed defect can be located on the metal rather than remembered as the brightest stripe.

Quality found a real edge scuff on one plate. The arrow points at a central reflection instead. They accepted another bright-looking plate, and both identities now accompany the corrected full views.

Will the next imaging comparison retain both plates and cover the required edge, rather than selecting a quieter central crop that excludes the confirmed scuff?

And check repeatable seating with whoever loads the holder; a good physical reference will still produce a confusing handover if the plate can rest differently each time. The loader needs to recognise the intended support, not memorise one successful photograph.
