17分Seen a demonstration done with one bolt nipped up through the foot. Looked excellent. Nobody mentioned the bolt until we asked to lift the bracket. Get the loose part in front of inspection before arguing about the new fixture.

14分That needs the responsible quality and engineering people, Liam. The handover also needs to say who handles parts that fail; otherwise correction becomes somebody quietly leaning on them.
25分Keep the example identified while it moves about. Ours got mixed with a corrected one on a trolley. Lost the afternoon explaining two different measurements of two different brackets.
18分We priced a fixture on the assumption it would remove all straightening. Didn't happen. I'd want the quote to show the remaining correction work honestly, but I wouldn't bin a useful fixture just because it cannot do everything.
20分Agreed Felix, provided someone establishes a permitted correction method and what gets checked afterwards, otherwise the supposed saving is just work disappearing from the estimate

6分Oscar, the sample was chosen because its welds looked good, which is fair for the weld discussion but somebody then called it our approved assembly; Toby, thanks, it now has its own tag and inspection photo

14分Good question Sarah. Rocking got us excited on another job when the important feature was the hole position. Still needed checking, but we were arguing about the wrong thing first.
10分Sarah, the foot flatness is outside the drawing requirement on this one, inspection used revision D, and the hole positions passed, so we finally have something less vague than wobbly
0分That gives the fixture designer a real problem to discuss. Any other released samples available? One bad bracket tells you it happened. Wouldn't price the whole production story around just that one.
21分And keep corrected samples in a separate group. Labelled, not thrown out.
11分Thanks for naming revision D, Mina. Can the fixture review use that same revision? I have seen a purchasing attachment lag behind the drawing inspection actually used.

15分Still collecting, Felix, and Ada the quote attachment was revision C so I have sent D and asked them to update it; I am not rejecting the fixture, just refusing to pretend the nice-looking sample settled it
